We’re proud to share that Vardan Melikyan, Founder and CEO of Greenvance LLC, served as Team Leader for the recently concluded project “Enabling Climate-Smart Regional and Local Infrastructure Development in Selected Communities,” implemented with support from the World Bank.
On March 20, 2025, the final workshop was held in Yerevan, marking the culmination of a months-long collaborative process involving national and local stakeholders, including the communities of Areni, Dilijan, and Goris.
As Team Leader, Vardan guided the expert team in developing Climate-Smart Action Plans (C-SAPs) for these three communities — plans that identify practical, low-carbon, and resilient infrastructure investments. These include:
✅ Flood-resilient and renewable-powered infrastructure in Areni
✅ Green urban drainage and slope stabilization in Dilijan
✅ Landslide-resistant roads and resilient public buildings in Goris
The C-SAPs aim to:
🌱 Reduce GHG emissions
🏙 Strengthen urban and rural climate resilience
🛠 Empower local governments with tools for green investment planning
This milestone effort lays the foundation for smarter, greener development across Armenia, aligned with its climate commitments.
